The Bundled Benefits of Soil Health

This event will include: an in-person demonstration of best management practices currently being used across the country followed by an interactive discussion of the benefits of voluntary, incentive based conservation programs to both agriculture and the environment. It will also highlight the importance of healthy soils and the impact improved soil health can have as a tool to improve water quality, help agriculture mitigate and adapt to a rapidly changing climate, reduce carbon dioxide levels through voluntary sequestration on private working lands and much, much more.

The demonstration will take place at
USDA Headquarters
Whitten Building, North Lawn
1400 Independence Ave

The Demonstration will include presentations by the following:

Chief Jason Weller, NRCS
Chris Lawrence, Cropland Agronomist, Virginia NRCS
Greg Scott, Soil Scientist, Oklahoma Conservation Commission
Dr. Shanon Phillips, Director, Water Quality Division, Oklahoma Conservation Commission

And other State conservation professionals currently working with the
EPA, USDA-NRCS, USFWS, and other federal partners
